Two more of my holiday cuties. This is Peyton and Presley, brother and sister. These 8"x8" portraits were based on photos taken by their grandfather, who, as you can see, is an excellent photographer.
I really like the soft light on their faces and the simple compositions. You might notice I added blue and fuchsia to Peyton's shirt and tied together the backgrounds so that the two paintings match when they sit side by side.
My client was thrilled with their portraits and and was looking forward to giving them to the children's parents for Christmas.

This little cutie is another of my holiday commissions. My client said that they had originally bought Zoey as a dog for her, but soon there was no question that her husband was the dog's favorite. My client said:
“I'm always searching for meaningful holiday gifts and you certainly helped me achieve one this year! In fact, we made him cry. It's true! My husband opened his Christmas gift, and when he realized it was a portrait of his best buddy, Zoey, tears began to fall. He loved it!”
Here's the photo I worked from. I wanted to add color to the background and into the shadows on Zoey to make it look more lively. I think I succeeded!

Now I get to show you some of the portraits that I completed for the holidays. This was a posthumous portrait of Aubie, a painting that was a Christmas present from my client to her husband. Here's her original photo:
My client was thrilled when she saw the portrait, and got a little teary-eyed. She later wrote me, "My husband was so pleased with the painting of our sweet Aubie. You really captured his personality and spirit...Words cannot express our thanks."
What a nice thing to say. I love to make my clients happy! For information on my pet portraits visit my website: LindaHugues.com
