Orange Charmer-Hyde Park

"Orange Charmer-HydePark",  8x10, oil

I was attracted to this house because of the bright color and the stubby columns on the front. To me the columns are quite oversized for the house and make it look like something out of Disney. Maybe a house where the seven dwarfs live.

There are actually quite a few houses in the Hyde Park area with these type of columns. I tried researching to see if it was a particular type of American Craftsman architecture, but I haven't found anything yet. Craftsman houses typically have thinner square tapered columns.  I'll keep looking, there must be a story there.
